Personal Experience
I've had the HS-10 for about 4 months now. I've had no problems at all with it. The picture quality is great. Even with a little bit of light coming into the room the picture quality is better than a tv. I've read about problems with the fan noise, but that has never been an issue for me. This is the first projector I've ever owned and I doubt if I'll ever go back to standard TV sets. I'd recommend this projector to anyone who is considering a purchase.

I bought the HS10 sight unseen after reading about about it in many forums. I was a bit worried at first considering this was my first PJ. However, when I turned it on all my worries went away. I would describe the picture as very clean. I did not see any pixels 1X from screen. The color is very good. The blacks are so-so. I have not done any tweaking yet. All I did was adjust the contract and brightnest only and the picture looks very good. A lot of people have been complaining about the noise but to me it does not seem that loud at all. All in all I am very happy with it and my kids and I love it!

I would just like to let everyone know I received my Sony HS10 projector and 100" widescreen. WOW is the only word I can use, the projector is awesome and the fan noise that people have commented about is not an issue for me even with my audio speakers on low volume as I live in an appartment and have some respect for my neighbours. The picture quality is INSANE.

I have had my unit for a week. All I can say is WOW!!! Great picture and features. I have watched 4 movies and have just been amazed at the quality of the picture. I have a 32" Toshiba HDTV down stairs. I was concerned that I would be disappointed comparing between the two. Not an issue! We have relegated the 32" to watching the news and maybe a sitcom. Anything else and we will be watching it with the Sony. I had a local home theater company visit my home and bring in a different brand projector. At first I was impressed as it was the first projector I had seen in my home (I had seen others but not in my home). The Sony had the best picture of all that I have seen in this price range (some cost 2-3k more than the SONY).
Regarding the fan noise, at first I was concerned (based upon some of the reviews I had read here)it seemed a little louder than I expected, but then I turned my AV receiver on to watch the movie and it became a non issue. The fan did not distract anyone while watching a movie, in fact no one even commented about it. If your watching a movie with 5-6 speakers and a subwoofer surrounding you and the fan bothers you I would consider upgrading your audio system.
No problems to report yet. If they arise I'm not going to worry about it. I have purchased many SONY products (including the laptop I am currently using) they wil make it right. Good company. I highly recommend the VPL-HS10 projector.

This has been a great experience. Value per $$ is the best I've seen. Wonderful picture, features like the memory stick slot, quiet fan in Cinema Mode. I've got almost 200 hours on it without a hitch. After reading some of the reviews I feel that some people don't know about the projector or didn't spend enough time using it. Are there better projectors, yes, but to me the extra 2K or more was not worth the slight imnprovement in picture. Colors are good, contrast is good after a little time playing with it and it looks wonderful on my 92" DaLite screen. Wide Zoom mode works great for watching 4:3 pictures and HDTV looks awesome through the DVI input!
Get one and you won't be disappointed. I also looked very close at several other around this price but they were not true HDTV capable and some didn't offer DVI input. Another thing that I like is the remote zoom and focus ability. This is even missing from some projectors costing a lot more! и т.д. Продолжать?
