Quest for DTS Dreamworks' hit sci-fi comedy, Galaxy Quest, starring Sigourney Weaver and Tim Allen and produced by Rain Man's Mark Johnson, is to get a DTS DVD soundtrack when it is released on May 2 in the US. This continues Dreamworks and Amblin Entertainments' commitment to the DTS format, inspired to no small degree by main man Steven Spielberg's advocacy of the 5.1-channel audio format. Happily the disc also continues the currently good showing from Dreamworks on the supplementals front: as well as a 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer, it's set to feature a behind-the-scenes documentary, production notes, cast and crew biographies, a trailer, and a special alien language track - which will hopefully be rather more extensive than the couple of Ak-Aks offered by a similarly named feature on the Mars Attacks DVD... As with the other DTS titles available, a standard DVD version will also be obtainable for the same price - in this case, $26.99. |
