  More lip-synch blues
I'm afraid we've come across another DVD player blighted by the lip-synch audio fault first seen on early Pioneer DVD players (and a few others besides). The offender this time is the X-Wave, an import from the far east currently doing the rounds in the UK via selected distributors. Having seen the X-Wave for myself, I can report that 'classic' troublesome scenes such as Chapter 7 from the Region 2 Con Air and the opening scene of Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels (non-director's cut) look as bad as, if not worse than on any of the Pioneer players. The slight audio discrepancies of flawed discs combine with the extra delay being introduced by the X-Wave's audio circuitry to render some scenes unwatchable, with people's mouths moving completely independently of the words emerging from your TV/sound system. A full report on what is tragically an otherwise pretty good player will appear in the next issue of Home Cinema Choice magazine
