Comparison: Samsung C8000 46" vs. Panasonic VT20 50" vs. LG LX950N 47"

As mentioned I had the chance to see these three televisions almost side-by-side. This is my experience in each category:

Design:
1. LG LX950N
2. Samsung C8000
3. Panasonic VT20

Not much to say here. The LG simply has the most minimalistic, clean and stylish design in my opinion. Samsung is close, but the grey metallic doesn't stand up to minimal black bezels. And LG's foot stand looks more stylish than the new 4-legged Samsung in my opinion. Panasonic design looks very last gen and I really don't know why they thought it necessary to throw in the brown tint; they should've stuck with black. But the Pana design was not downright bad or ugly, just not very interesting.

Screen surface:
1./2. tie - Panasonic/Samsung
2. LG

LG was too reflective, Panasonic may have slight edge over Samsung but it's a really close call IMO so I'm just gonna call them tie

Very Bright Room Performance:
1. Samsung
2. Panasonic
3. LG

The Samsung had brightness (or can have) like no other - this is typical for Samsung and definitely a positive if being watched in a very bright room. The Panasonic did pretty well too, but the LG suffered way more than the two others from reflections. Remember this is not just a couple of light sources, these TV's were SURROUNDED by light, mostly from above. In the real world I really feel that the LG will be much less of a problem, although it's hard to deny that it's less of a problem with the others.

3D performance:
1. Panasonic
2. LG
3. Samsung

Panasonic simply had the best 3D hands down. The LG suffered a little bit from slightly jerky motion and the Pana just seemed so calm, natural and just good. Eyestrain (worst to best): 1. LG 2. Samsung 3. Panasonic. I felt more strain on the eyes with the LG 3D, less with Samsung and none with Panasonic. Still LG was pretty good. Samsung suffered moderately from "ghosting" or "crosstalk", I mean that effect where there is a "ghost image" or a "double image" around certain objects, for example soccer players. The 2D->3D on the Samsung was very convincing, very well done, but then again it was their demo disc. Still this particular feature was much better than I expected. But the crosstalk pulls it down to the bottom of the list. The Samsung crosstalk is actually is a bit of a problem in my opinion.

3D glass comfort:
1. LG
2. Samsung
3. Panasonic

Even though Panasonic's 3D topped the LG slightly and Samsungs by a good deal. The Panasonic glasses were heavy and the least comfortable of the bunch. All of these glasses were tested wearing ordinary glasses underneath, and LG was the most without doubt the most comfortable. Samsung was a step down and Panasonic an equal step down in comfort. None of them were downright uncomfortable.

2D image quality
Sorry because of lighting I can only guess:
1. Panasonic
2. LG (pretty close to pana)
3. Samsung (because of edge LED)
