DVD Hardware news : Have your DVD player converted to output progressive scan
Feeding a progressive scan image into a compatible video projector or progressive scan TV produces images far superior to standard television. The vast majority of DVD players currently output interlaced video, but German company Cinematrix
say they have a box of tricks which will enable progressive scan output from players from
- DENON
- HITACHI
- PANASONIC
- PHILIPS
- PIONEER
- SONY
- TOSHIBA
- YAMAHA
- YAMAKAWA
There doesn't appear to be a UK distributor as yet, but if the unit works as promised then some enterprising company is bound to get on board.
We've heard that the electronics involved may be the next generation of the innards of the DVDO iscan unit from DVDO.com, but this is speculation.
