правда это не совсем CD. Да, это польбе по моей части. Но скажем так: цифровые носители vs. винил.

Dear inmates,
A couple of days ago me and two audiophiles mates compared the Sony Sacd 777 es with my GyroMKV+Incognito RB300+Dynavector 17d2mk2 and the later one won hands on. The more detailed comparisons where made with Pink Floyd DSOTM 30Th Aniv Edition and Vynil was better in every ways. I also played it to other non audiophile mate who was simply stunned with that fact. In fact I was a bit disapointed with SACD which wasn?t much better than my Sony 337ESD\PS Audio Superlink via Siltech silver 7 cable (in fact with both reading cd layer it was clearly inferior to my old CDT+conv).
The rest of the System is Quad 99 pre-amp for all the three sources, 2xGolden Tube SE-40 in Monoblock mode and Acoustat Spectra 11 Loudspeakers. Cabling from Audioquest - Ruby IC?s and Indigo Speaker Cable. Mains were untreated except that the SACD player had a Kimber Mains cable.
What surprised me more wasn?t the Vynil Superiority, but the superiorty of the 337esd+PSAudio to the SACD-777esd in CD mode and the not very superiority of the last one even in SACD mode - In some tracks we still prefered the above one.
Any comments?

Wouldn't have expected anything else!
How much money did you spend on your vinyl player/ And even more importantly, how much TIME did you spend setting it to play so obviously well? I'm sure it's far from a standard package taken from a shop and plugged in!
Against it you are comparing a STOCK machine from a mass market company that is full of corporate sonic compromises - like some 10 opamps in the audio path for starters. Get it upgraded to a similar audiophile level, and then see how they compare.
Check out all the reports on modified SCD-1 or SCD-777ES machine from the "search" section of this forum to read about how much these players can be improved. They can make wonderful music!

И второй комментария, отличающийся от первого:

Just finished reading "sevens" recent post and wanted to share a similar experience. I guess many of us had a bit of free time over the holidays and wanted to put it to use playing with our audio gear.
I invited a few members of the Richmond Audio Society over to do a shootout between my vinyl rig (Sota Star Sapphire/ET-II/Benz Ruby 2) and a Sony 9000ES unmodified SACD player. Amplification provided by Jeff Rowland (Cadence/SynergyIIi/Model 12), Martin Logan Prodigy speakers and Luminous Audio Synchestra Signature interconnects and speaker cable. Source material was Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section, Waltz for Debbie, Kind of Blue and Mighty Sam McClain (these were the only performances we had on both SACD and vinyl).
Bottom line is that both playback formats acquitted themselves very well. We all agreed that we could live happily with either, and that it would be silly to replace a large collection in one format with the other. However, if forced to choose, and without regard to convenience, all of us would select the vinyl system (by the way, I was the only member of the five people involved who even owns a turntable). The vinyl playback was more involving, easier to connect with emotionally, and created a more convincing illusion of real musicians in real space. That being said, there were also some distinct advantages we noticed with SACD:
1. No surface noise (just put this one in here to beat you to it!)
2. SACD sound improved relative to vinyl with higher volume
3. SACD had slightly better soundstaging (width and depth)
So, what does all this mean? If you already have a satisfying playback system, whether vinyl or SACD, go out and buy more music!

Так что кажен сам решает для себя
