After a dismal showing last week, the weakest of the year so far, the box office rebounded over the weekend thanks to smash debut of Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Written, produced and directed by Robert Rodriquez, the third in his El Mariachi trilogy scored an impressive $24 million over the three-day frame. While the long-term prognosis is mixed, the film has already handily outscored both of the former installments and given its low $29 million production budget, is on track to turn a tidy profit for Sony Pictures. >
