' Columbia TriStar has announced that Superbit™ DVDs will be released on Region 4 from May 15th 2003. Using a special high bit rate digital transfer process to optimise video quality, and offering a choice of both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, Superbit™ DVDs are aimed at those who want the best for their home theatre systems and are prepared to give up on the extras. The space used for these is reallocated to accommodate the Superbit™ technology, encoded at double the normal bit rate. The first set of titles scheduled for release include Hollowman, The Patriot, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Fifth Element, Vertical Limit, Dracula, Desperado and Gattaca and these are now available for the great low price of NZ$39.95.
