DVD Hardware news : First UK DVD-A/SACD combi DVD player announced - for Ј300!
It's not often we at HCC are knocked for six by a bit of product news - but this is one of those times. UK newcomer Zenix is out to enter the market with a bang by releasing the UK's first DVD player to offer both DVD-Audio AND SACD playback. Even more remarkably, the October-launched Z-1016LS can be yours for just Ј300...
As well as its remarkable audio flexibility, the deck has built-in DTS and Dolby Digital decoding, can play CD-R/RW discs and MP3 files, carries component video outputs, and even, would you believe, delivers true progressive scan video using 3:2 pull-down technology. Not content with this potential dream machine, Zenix is also releasing a Ј130 (maximum) entry level deck, the Z2001S, along with one Ј150 deck with a built-in Dolby Digital decoder and a Ј170 deck with built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders. All these models also have CD-R/RW and MP3 playback.
